The Board is committed to transparency and public access to information. The following records can be found on the Board’s website, unless otherwise prohibited by law:
- Licensees’ names, business addresses, telephone numbers, license numbers, types, status and expiration dates.
- Licensee’s practice specialties or board certifications, if available.
- Public disciplinary actions of licensees, if applicable.
- Involuntary limitations, denials, revocations or suspensions of licensees’ memberships or clinical privileges, if applicable.
- Involuntary surrender of a licensee’s DEA registration, if applicable.
- Final criminal convictions resulting from the commission of a felony in any state or country, if applicable.
Requesting Records
The Board provides records to the general public in accordance with the Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A. 45-215, et seq.) A request to inspect or copy records:
- Must be made in writing to the records custodian (Note: a request received via e-mail or facsimile is deemed a written request.);
- Must sufficiently identify the record being sought; and
- Must contain the name and address of the party requesting access (proof of identity may be required).
- Must assure that the request will not be used for an improper purpose.

Use of names derived from a public record, whether from a printed roster, other printed record, or electronic record in any form, is limited by K.S.A. 45-230. If access to a record maintained by the Board reveals an individual's identity, then the person requesting access may be required to submit an Open Records Request and Certification form.
The Board has until the third business day following receipt of the request to respond. In the event more time is needed to process a request, the Board will supply a written explanation about the response time.
Fees
The Board charges fees for the cost of staff time, copying expenses, and postage. No fee is charged for the first 100 pages. Typically, no fee will be charged for inspecting or copying when the total calculated cost is less than $10.00. The Board may require payment in advance when the estimated cost exceeds $100.00.

Access Restrictions
If a provision of law prohibits or restricts disclosure of a record, the request will be denied the records custodian may also refuse to provide access to a record for any of the reasons listed in K.S.A. 45-221(a) and amendments thereto.
The agency record of any administrative hearing is a record, generally available to the public. As a courtesy, the Board provides access to pertinent case documents on the Board Actions page. Links to these documents can be found on the Licensee's profile, accessible by a Public Profile Search. The agency record consists of filings, transcripts, exhibits, and other records used as a basis for agency action. Documents in the agency record containing confidential privileged will not be made available unless the confidential or privileged information can be deleted/redacted. In some instances, the Board may be able to produce the confidential or privileged information upon receipt of a valid the consent for release of information.
An application and its attachments to an initial or renewal license application whether the application is for a license examination, endorsement, or reinstatement, or for registration are generally open to the public. Any portion of the application containing personal identifiers or other confidential information such as social security numbers, academic performance records, confidential disciplinary history or other confidential information will be redacted.
Release of state employee personnel records is governed by Kansas statute and by rules adopted by the Kansas Secretary of Administration.
